Fox Float RP2 upgrade - Size issue
Discussion
I'm about to buy a Fox Float RP2 to replace my Fox Triad that came standard on my Specialized Stumpjumper FSR '06.
The size of the Triad is 7.5x1.75" which works out at a 190x44mm stroke.
The closest size available from Fox for the RP2 is 190x50mm and I'm just wondering if this will work ok on my frame?
I couldn't find much online and was wondering if anybody here would know....
Cheers,
BB

Interesting....I just removed the shock and measured the stroke and it's 50mm. Perhaps google conversion cannot convert 1.75" properly!
Anyhow....problem is I need to decide between an RP23 and RP2.
The RP2 is €100 so I'm wondering what's the real benefit with the RP23 to justify the higher price.....

Speak to Tim at TFT - they service Specialised shocks now (IIRC) so he'll have a very good understanding of whether or not the shock will fit the frames correctly.
Bear in mind that the damping and valving will be set up to a 'middle ground' and its worth seeking advice if upgrading - quite often buying new shocks from Tim will mean you get the perfect shock setup based on the design of the frame.
Always worth a phone call - Tim and his chaps are very helpful
Edited to add: Go for an RP2 with a PUSH upgrade - will be MUCH better than a RP23 as standard as the ProPedal system is good, but not as good as a PUSH'd shock - the valving is so much better...

I've ridden a few bikes with the RP23 and all were superb, however I never use the ProPedal system and that seems to be the main difference between the two shocks.
A few threads in this search result, so have a butchers

Both the RP23 and RP2 have ProPedal. In fact, it's a standard feature however the RP23 (I believe), has 3 different ProPedal settings.A few threads in this search result, so have a butchers

Also tempted with this PUSH thing but I can only see it's available in the states.....If I do go for it, I'll probably wait for the season to end so I can get my Fox Talas RL's upgraded to RLC's and PUSH'd at the same time. They need a major service anyway and I was going to wait until the of this year anyway. I'd just get the RP2 done at the same time.....(if I go for it).

Even if I get a PUSH'd RP2, it's only £40 cheaper than a PUSH'd RP23 so I'd probably go for that.
On top of this they do Fox Talas servicing and tuning for only a little more than the standard service price here in Austria plus I get my forks upgraded to RLC's.
Cheers for the link!

Actually....just wondering how much I could get for my old Fox Triad rear shock. It's in good condition and is cleaned and oiled after every ride so the seals are in excellent condition.
Anyone on here in need of a rear shock? Offers!
Otherwise fleabay was useless for a starting price.....What's it worth?
