On-One Inbred 456
Discussion
Anyone got one? I'm thinking of picking one up as I really fancy a steel frame and these seem to be the best out there for the price. That said though I don't want to go through the effort of building one up only to find it falls short of my expectations.
I'm looking to use it 50% as a commuting bike and 50% weekend rides which will cover everything from fast singletrack / xc, to the occasional @rseing about on jumps.
Also, am unsure about wht size to go for. I'm 5'10'' and am thinking that the 16" model should be just fine.
Thoughts / alternatives?

I have one and it's for sale (I think it's a 17-18" if you're intersted?).
I absolutely love it but I found myself needing a full sus for the kind of riding I'm doing. You won't regret buying one, they ride absolutely brilliant over most terrain and the feel from the 456 is so much nicer than ali. My only gripe would be weight.

i have an geared inbred which i bought a few seasons ago... it's kitted out with some new rockshox toras (in retro white to match the bike) with the poploc, hydraulic discs and some spuds... it's a great bike... but quite heavy.
for the road i use my luuuuuuuurvlt colnago (also white... i love white bikes!)

I got a 456 Ti, it has the rock shox revelation with pop lock, and it sails along the roads very well.
The shocks work very well and it can take a pasting off road.
I am 5'9" and got the 18 inch frame, after riding the 18" I would not want a smaller frame, the 18 felt too small initially.

The top tube on the bike attaches a couple of inches further down on the seat tube so a 16" has a 14" top tub height plus with a long fork on the back the front end is very light so I'd go for the 18".
Poplock essential for decent climbing on this bike in my opinion.
On One Inbreds and 456's have longer top tubes than other manufacturers, hence running shorter stems than normal. I'm 6ft and ride an 18inch inbred, it looks too small, but due to the long top tube feels perfect with a 70mm stem. Its also advisable to go for a 400mm post to make sure there is enough post in the frame.Poplock essential for decent climbing on this bike in my opinion.
I'm 5'11" and have a 456 and 456 Ti - both brilliant, but the standard 456 hardly gets ridden now as the Ti is just so much better.
Only drawbacks of the steel 456 are weight (but it's not awful), paint quality (it chips all too easily), and a bit too much flex around the bottom bracket. Against that, I've jumped it, raced it, commuted on and off-road, and never had a problem. It's a classic British frame.
