Brand-X CRC Frames/Bottom Bracket re-thread

Hi,

Anone know anything more about the Brand-X frames? Who makes them, whats the quality like? Bargain or minefield? Anyone use one? Seem very very cheap

BB thread on my Specialized Hardrock is fked. Can they be re-threaded? is it worth it? any ideas on cost? Does anyone know where would do it?

I need a dirt cheap XC frame for Mountain bike mayhem in June. I have everything else(most of it brand new) except a working frame. Frame is perfect except for the lack of BB thread

I've had a look through egay and nothing there frame wise.

Any ideas welcome.

Any machine shop would be able to put a helicoil in there (provided they know what the thread is) which will be far stronger than the thread on your frame. Just make sure they're aware of the importance of that thread lining up perfectly with the opposite thread.
