So iv got the Nicolai Helius FR and a trail/freeride bike at the moment i lug it around everyware, I have a 98 Kona steel frame but its just not nice to ride, iv changed alot int he last 11 years!! so i have just sold one frame and have 1 more to sell, so i would like to replace the kona with a nice do it all hardtail that i can stick a pair of fox vanilla 32 forks on and ride on the trails when i cant be bothered to take the full sus out! i dont want to spend a fortune so happy to go second hand.

What do you think im open to suggestions

Do you have a preference for ali / carbon / steel / titanium?

There are loads to choose from if you just want the frame.

Cove have the Stiffee, Handjob and Hummer. Dialled have the Prince Albert, Alpine and Love Hate. On One have the various 456's. DMR have the Trailstar. Cotic have the Soul. Mythic (Banshee) have the Scirocco. And there are plenty more.

How much do you want to spend? What type of riding are you going to be doing on it?

most of its life will be spent in swinley forest when i just want a quick blast and cant be bothered to take the 6" bike out. I like the look of the 09 chameleon but looking at the kit on the kona i think i will be looking for a whole bike. I havent looked at the hardtail market for quite a few years, my LBS sells genesis and cube but i think i would prefer to buy second hand and get a good spec. probably looking to spend no more than £700

A Dialled Bikes 'Prince Albert' is perfectly suited to caning it round Swinley and burly enough to go a bit more gnarly to. Frame only from the factory, although full bikes come up on STW and e-Bay regularily.
