I've an old round town mountain bike that has quick release wheels and saddle and I'd rather have them as bolt on items so they don't get pinched and I don't have to remove and lock them each time I lock the bike up. Is it easy to get non quick release replacement bolts and where's a good place online to go for them?

Thanks!

As you don't say what your hubs are then know one can answer your question.

The seatpost qr clamp can be swapped for a bolt clamp but theives do carry 5mm allen keys.

You can get security skewers - Brand-X from Chain Reaction are simple, 'cheap' and effective to replace your wheel qr's. Probably the easiest solution.

Go to a bike shop and get their advice. I went to Evans and they were really helpful and even put these on the bike for free (though I don't think they're supposed to):

I was pretty pleased with them and a great price too!

Assumming normal QR wheels, Halo Hex Key Skewer set £8, Brand X Seat Clamp £5 at CRC. Just don't do what I did and get the skewers in gold....kind of defeats the purpose biggrin

ETA: If you are worried about thieves with allen keys and don't take apart the bike too often, you can always put a bit of mastic or liquid nail in the bolt head. You'll be able to pry it out with a blade if you need to service anything.

Thansk a lot folks for the pointers... CRC seem to have a brilliant stock plus they're very cheap so I'm going to order them from there. It's a cheap old runabout hack that I go into town on occasionally and I've got a lovely new bike that I just use for SUnday afternoon rides.

Thanks again :-)
