There is one for sale in the classifieds, and it got me remembering mine when I was a youngster.
I got it second hand for my 8th birthday, all my mates had BMX's god knows why my parents got me a chopper - but I loved it.
It was a bright yellow mark 2, with the 3 speed Sturmey Archer knacker cracker gear change.
Seeing one for sale got me all nostalgic and looking on E bay for a project.
Any one else a (closet) Chopper fan, or owner? The newer ones look a reasonable pastiche, but somehow not the same.

I'm more into '80's BMX's to be honest. I'm currently looking for a Raleigh Burner BMX project to restore and use as art.

I have though a Mk3 Chopper in purple. It is a poor remake of the earlier ones but I bought it now while they are cheap and I'll keep it a while.

The Mk1's and Mk2's seem to go for a small fortune already so I'm hoping the newer ones will be as collectable in the future.

I've got a late(ish) Black and Gold Grifter awaiting restoration in my garage - protected by a good layer of dust and cobwebs. Thanks for the reminder. Think I'll tackle it (well, make a start at least) this weekend.
