Hi all

can anyone reccoment a central or south London based bike shop for a road bike? As I am not buying through a scheme it doesn't have to be an Evans etc and I feel like there is a chance to get a better service, negotiate a better deal and I would rather my hard earnt went somewhere that may need it at present.

Cheers

Andy

If you're near to Holborn, try http://www.condorcycles.com/ on Grays Inn Road. It's got some lovely stuff, but ranging from singlespeed/fixie stuff up to fully-specced Giro replica bikes.

Nice people to chat to, as well.

Edwardes in Camberwell are good, with a mix of entry and high end e.g. De Rosa, Time and Pinarello. Friendly and open to a bit of haggling. wink

www.sigmasport.co.uk near Kingston are very good too. More high end and triathlon kit, but good lads.

Geoffry Butler in Croydon?

Cheers for the advice - actually decided to buy a second hand bike instead as I thought I could get more for my budget! Picked up a Pinarello Paris - frame is before they went fully carbon so its Alu with carbon forks prob 2000-2003 but in great condition bar a couple of tiny paint chips. has mint dura ace groupset that had been added more recently! very pleased with it so far. will get some pics up when I get the chance if anyone is interested?! I don't know too much about the history of the frame - doesn't seem to be much info about them on the net that I can find.

Thanks again

Andy

You'll probably find it a little stiff, depends on what you like. Nice to have a good groupo, you can always upgrade the frame if it's not to your taste. My B-in Law has a Early Pinarello and he likes it.

My condor is an early 2000, it kicks the st outta my ass after a long ride, its as harsh as hell. If you do find it harsh try this saddle, I've just got one and think its brilliant.
