I've been looking at trailers and have even borrowed one from a friend to try out.

First thing I noticed was once I put Hman Jnr in the trailer (with his Bike Helmet on) was that the shape of the seatback made his skid lid tip over his eyes.

I've read that Burley has specifically designed in some space for this and so have Chariot (Burley and Chariot call it a Recessed helmet well/space) but they are waaaaay expensive at £400 for the trailer. My cack Hardrock sport wasnt even that much to buy!!

I've also tried cushions behind the lad but this doesn't really help and looks quite uncomfortable at the centre strap/groin interface.

For the meantime I've foam padded (the grey foam stuff for pipe lagging) all the interior tubes and stuck to cycle lanes to minimise the severity and possibility of an Hman Jnr cranium / metal frame collision , but I'd prefer him to get used to wearing a lid for when he's older and obviously for the immediate inherent safety benefits.

So here's the question! : Has anyone used an alternative manufacturer that has designed in some space for the occupant to wear a lid without it causing the skid lid to tip forward on the childs head, if so what was the cost make and model of the trailer.
