Yes ive tried a remedy at coed-y-brenin from their bike hire shop. This one:

I was very, very impressed. It just rode through anything downhill(ive come from fully rigid background and worked my way up to full sus). You dont "need" to pick lines, it just soaks up so much. Uphill was good too with lockout propedal thingy on the shock and reduced travel on the lyrics (although i did manage to break the u-turn dial on the forks in the short time i had it so they were stuck in short travel mode but still ate up the hits on the beginning of the end i think it is - last section back to car park at coed-y).
Trek seem to have done a good job in making sure all shops sell at the same price so I really could not find any deals as such, nor any 2008 bikes in my size. If they werent so expensive I would have bought one there and then, however I ended up with the same bike but from specialized:

I bought an 08 enduro for half the price of a remedy and to all intents and purposes it rides pretty much the same. Almost looks as cool as the remedy too. Very happy with it.
Some have said its a bit OTT for the riding we do but I like it and love to hammer down the hills.
Unfortunately I havent tried a Roscoe 3 so can't comment on that but the Remedys are lush.

Not wanting to cause a panic - but I checked out the Fisher Roscoe, and was told that 2010 prices would be up 20%!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roscoe 3 up from £2900 to £3500!

Wow lets hope not. All the prices, bikes and components, took a hike this year and they put that down to raw material costs going up, but the price of metal certainly is a lot lower this year so if thats an indicator hopefully they wont.

The dealer said it was a reflection of the fact that bike prices had been too low for the past 10 years.
