Quick one chaps.

I've just inspected my front brakes and one of the pads is shot. So shot in fact that the disc has been rubbing against the caliper - which is not a brilliant idea to be honest...

Caliper looks fine. My plan is therefore to replace the 160mm rotor with a 180mm one, and buy an adaptor to move the caliper out 10mm. I will also need a new set of pads, obviously.

So, recommendations for 180mm rotors (Shimano XT, Avid, other?) and a suitable adaptor for Shimano Deore LX hydro brakes.
Also, any suggestions for decent all purpose brake pads (the documentation says "M06 metal pads" but I can't work out which pads are M06. Are all the fitments the same, or do I need to be careful and get the right ones?)

I have 180/160mm XT disks with hayes stroker trails and the disks keep warping so I would not recommend them.

I#ve got Avid discs and have had no issues... Avid Juicy 9 brakes...... pads from discodoctor...

I think the converters 160 to 180 are all pretty standard!

Did you mean these guys?

http://www.discobrakes.com/

They look very cheap indeed.

So I need these (possibly a couple of sets)

And then either this kit;

Or these bits;

Cool. That looks terribly reasonable.

Discodoctors.... discobrakes... what's in a name?

ANyway that should cover it...... I always think that sticking with the same brand for brakes is better than mixing brands!
