Any recommendations for some shorts?
I have proper lycra shorts with good padding that I wear some Gore waterproof outers on over the winter. I have some cheap baggies from Decathlon that I think are rubbish. So I would like a good pair of baggy shorts with good quality padding. Any recommendations welcomed!
thanks

Quick bit of research suggests lycra shorts eg Altura Pro Gel under some baggies (eg Endura Singletracks).

Glad I'm not the only one that thought the Decathlon baggy shorts were rubbish. I thought I might have been a bit picky biggrin

Dont use baggies that come with the lycra liners 'attached', they just dont work (a la fox).
Endura, etc, that use liners that clip in and out, are ok.

But the liners are never as good as dedicated lycra - the best bet is to buy good quality lycra shorts, eg Endura 6 panel or FS260, or Gore, etc. Then use normal baggies over the top - again, gore, endura, fox, altura all make lots of good ones.

A pair of bibs under baggies is the way to go if you are not man enough to just wear the lycra wink

I have a pair of Fox baggies with a built in pad which are fine for commuting in, but wouldn't like to wear them on too long a ride - horses for courses i guess - imo decent bibs are the only way to look after your undercarriage properly

I bought two pairs of Specialized baggies over the past year and can't rate them highly enough. Both fit nicely, have comfortable removable chamois and are wearing well after quite a lot of washes.
