Howdy peps,

We're attending a Wedding in Swansea on the 11th of September the positive side of which is that we can go for a ride in Afan on the Saturday.

Probably arrive at GC car park around 10am(ish) and roll around the Whites Level trail. Might ride the Black Run and Windy Point a couple of times.

Then lunch in the Drop Off.

Mandog's Yellow Peril should be our mode of transport.

Any takers?

Too right, but I'll be on my spesh that day (but I'm cove to the core).

In fact my Cove might have to go soon.

Had a bit of an nasty "off" at Afan a few weeks back, DH is on the banned list at the moment...

Having looked at the 'new' pdf of Whites Level I'd quite fancy looping round to ride the Black Run and Windy Point twice. Then looping from the end of Darkside back to the start of Goodwood to repeat them again.

The only way from the end of Darkside back to the top is to do the whole climb again, it's would be a hell of a days ride. Probably a bit too much for me. Two goes at Black/Windy sounds good to me!

Might employ the old G-Shock to see how much I've lost since the Mash-Up last month.

Selling I'm afraid, I'm stuggling to get any work done at the mo and could do with the money. You interested? it's not cheap, but the spec is blinding!

According to the map you don't. If you turn left at the end of Darkside and follow the railway line to Afan but turn up through Abercregan you can follow the 'emergency exit' fire road, turn off it and up to the start of Goodwood. Well, it shows it on the map and Google Earth. Worth an explore me thinks. Still a 2-3km climb though.

Why not just do the main climb again? Its so technical and twisty its enjoyable, which is more than can be said for boring fire road. I reckon its possible to do Whites twice in 3 hours if you don't have to wait around too much for any slow people or gear failure.

Well to get to the main climb you have to ride on the road for 3kms and then you have a 6km climb (which is good) followed by 3km of Fire road to get to the start of Goodwood.

Personally, I'd rather ride 3km on the fire road and go straight from the end of Darkside to the start of Goodwood.
