I was thinking whilst riding on Monday. Whilst I do enjoy hopping off the occasional jump in fairly wussy fashion, the thing that I really get the most feeling of satisfaction from is nailing a series of bumps at speed whilst keeping both wheels firmly on the ground and absorbing the movement.

Which do others enjoy most?

Air would be choice for fun, flying along just bouncing from peak to peak trying to keep momentum up (trying anyway) but if it's speed your after it's the gound hugging missle everytime.

I think i prefer nailing it round a series of berms dodging trees with my handlebars as fast as I can go rather than getting air on my bike. I save getting air for kitesurfing

There's nothing better than the feeling of being in the air; so much smoother than riding on the ground(of course what goes up must come down and this is usually anything but smooth!)

As much as I enjoy the odd bit of air time nothing beats a long section of trail that's steep, fast, twisty, rocky and rooty and requires every bit of concentration you can muster. For me getting air is just a function of speed and hitting the jumps you find on natural trails or man made DH courses and such like.

In the air of course! Hence my nickname wink

However, on the dh bike it's all about keeping it pinned to the ground cool
