Have been using this on my iPhone and internet for about a month with mixed results...

I am off for a mountain bike ride saturday morning with my brother in an area we really don't know very well. I have found a map on map my ride that looks perfect. However the map that you get on the iphone is useless because the detail is terrible and you can't zoom in ! So was wondering if anyone knows a way to transfer the route to google maps ? Or even plot a route streaight onto google maps on the phone ?

Maybe even a better app that would do the jog ? An help will be much appreciated

Hi Tricky,

Give 'everytrail' a bash. Works ok on my iphone, you can download trails from various sites and record your own!

I think it costs £2.

are these better than mapmyride then ? I think map my ride would be brilliant, if they could just sort out a few of the glitches...

Been looking into these a bit, and was wondering about an iPhone for this very thing..

I take it that these are a given..
.Allow you to save maps, upload them and view them on-line
.Allow you to download other peoples maps to be viewed on the iPhone

But do any of them show your current location on a downloaded map/route? I liked the look of mapmyride but it didn't seem to do that - which I'd have thought was a big reason of using these maps in the first place.

it should do but doesn't... sure this is something they are working on as that would be massivly popular
