I need to replace the old-style flite saddle on my best road bike. I really like the old flites, but since they don't make them anymore, I'm unsure what to replace it with. I don't like the styling of the replacement flite and there aren't any white flites on ebay so I'm considering an SLR. Does nayone have any experience of these or any other suggestions.

Ideally I want it to be sub 200g.

Thanks,

Parsnip

Such a personal choice - everyone will have different oppinions.

For me, i used to swear by a narrow toupe, was light and comfortable - one thing that i didn't like was that you were kind of forced to the middle, no riding the nose or sliding about.

Switched to an Arione, very comfortable - i start to get a bit numb after 3 hours, but its a worthwile tradoff for the different positions available on it - can ride the nose like a proper TT saddle or scooch right back.

I've got an SLR on each of my MTB's and also my road bike and would definitely get another. Comfortable and durable.

As previous posters have said it's a bit of a personal choice. However, I have a Bontrager X-Lite saddle and have to say it's about the comfiest i've spent time with my arse parked on. It actually has some decent padding on but is a reasonable shape and weighs 180g apparently.

I've used the Selle San Marco Concor Lite Titanium saddle for the last 15 years (not the same one, i've had a few).

A classic saddle.
