Hi guys.

Does anyone have a bike bag sitting around doing nothing that they want to sell?
I'm participating in a charity ride in the Alps in September so need a bike bag to be able to take my bike over for my three days of torture.

Also, any tips about taking a bike abroad (i.e. the bike getting there in one piece via the delicate, cautious baggage attendants at the airport) would be great.

Cheers

Chris

If you're worried about the bike getting damaged by baggage handlers, what about getting the Eurostar to Paris & TGV to the Alps. This is what I've done in the past and because you load / unload the bike yourself you don't need to worry about it getting damaged.

A word of advice though if you take the Eurostar is to buy your Metro ticket at St. Pancras if you can, or walk through the oversized luggage gate on the Metro without a ticket and pay the €10 fine at the other end instead of the €3-4 for a ticket so you don't have to queue behind a billion non-French speaking tourists at the ticket machines and risk missing your connection! mad I wish I'd known this beforehand. wink

Tickets can be bought online from www.raileurope.co.uk
