2009 Meta5.5.2 or 5.5 UK? Or wait for 2010?

After my 2007 Meta 5.5.3 getting nabbed (and sorely missed) I've been blatting around on a '02 Kona Pahoehoe, which, whilst it's been fun and I love hardtails, is wanted back by its owner (my brother) so he can turn it into a single speed!
The other day I tried out the Meta 6.2 which was awesome fun, however I wouldn't use the extra bits and bobs it offers, so have settled on the idea of a 5.5.2 or a 5.5 UK, now which would be recommended, or, is it worth waiting until the 2010 ones come out (fairly soon?). Thinking an '09 will be cheaper as there will be sales on?

i have an 09 super 4.2 and love it. no problems so far... the welding isnt superb but on a par with most other bikes i have seen at the same price. notably better than specilaized but not as good as trek.
merlin were doing some good deals on 09 commencal bikes earlier in the year, have a look at their website for the latest.

Take a look at the Lapierres before you make the plunge.
Commencal, whilst still excellent bikes, haven't really moved on for many years in the basic design of the Contact system, and comparatively against Lappieres and Treks et al are fairly heavy.
The Zesty is a stunning bike, and I can totally recommend the Spicy if you need extra guts.
Equally, the Cannondales are getting great reviews.

Why move on from the design of the contact system when its bloody good? Specialized and Kona have used the same basic design for years, because it works!
I'd personally recommend waiting for the 2010 bikes as they've made a few revisions which have improved the design. Namely the dropouts and I also believe they're a bit lighter. The 08's seemed to suffer a lot of failures but apparently not more than any other manufacturer?
That said, the Lapierre's are damn good bikes. I wouldnt swap my commie for one, but if i didnt have the commie, I'd have a lap or a Trek remedy
My friend has a Lapierre and it is bike porn, but more than I want to spend! Looking at around the £1500-£2k mark really.
I just really liked the relaxed riding position of the Commencals, but I've not really sampled any others! I will look into it...

The commencals are a bit more relaxed than the laps as they tend to have longer toptube's but a short stem will sort that.
Try both and pick the one you like! Dont worry about the bad things you hear about commies though

The commencals are a bit more relaxed than the laps as they tend to have longer toptube's but a short stem will sort that.
Try both and pick the one you like! Dont worry about the bad things you hear about commies though
I just feel they need to think hard about how to keep the weight down whilst maintaining the ride characteristics.
Trek and Lapierre manage it.

Prices seem to be higher, but the spec seems to have risen. Commencal have switched factories for 2010 too, presumably because of the warranty issues.
