Canon PowerShot S90

Just read an article on dpreview regarding the new Canon S90.

I'll be honest in saying I've not been too happy with my Panasonic FX-35. It's slow with a lot of noise at 100 ISO, very few manual controls and the only thing going for it is the 720p HD video.
Strange since a lot of people have rated it in the past hence the reason for purchasing it.
Canon have however brought out what looks like a gem of a camera. It's a fully manual camera but keeps a very compact body as opposed to the new G11. This is perfect as I don't always like shifting about my 40D with my collection of lenses.
What other options are available to me for a good compact but fully manual camera? (It must also be fast too.....)
