On my usual cycle to work, there was this Japanese fella cycling ahead of me with his chello strapped to his back in a hard case. He seemed a little wobbly on his bike but nothing too bad until we got to a line of traffic.
The poor chap promptly panicked for some reason and veered off the cycle path, straight into the back of a dumper truck waiting in the line of traffic and then straight to the ground.
What amazed me was nobody stopped to help and both cars and cyclists simply rode around the fella without even batting an eyelid!
By the time I asked if he was ok, the chap was back on the bike again dusting himself off, and apart from a huge graze on his arm, he seemed ok!
I just thought the whole episode was a bit bizarre, (and crazy to think nobody helped him!)

You could probably die on a London pavement and nobody would care.
Not all the time...Bloke on a scooter stacked it in front of me in Fulham yesterday.
All 8 of the cyclists in the informal peloton stopped to help.
The poverty-spec T-reg Boxster just overtook the guy lying in the middle of the road.
I think he broke his arm poor chap - luckily he was wearing a full face helmet otherwise it would have been far less pretty. Only going about 25 mph too.

You can die on a bus and not get noticed. Or, more accurately, noticed and ignored.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howabou...

This is typical of today's society. I was knocked off my bike 4 years ago on a roundabout and while I was lying in the road cars were actually tooting at me to get out of their way in case I added 2 seconds to their journey. Not a single person stopped to help or ask if I was ok, offer to act as a witness etc.
