Hi Guys
I am sure this has been asked loads of times before.
I am looking for a road bike.
I have a specialized mountain bike that i go out on twice a week. but i dont think i have taken it off road.
So i would like to upgrade to a road racer bike.
I am thinking of joining a club of some sorts so would like something 1/2 decent.
My budget is £500 ish if something extra special is a bit more i am sure i could go to that.
For info i am 5'10 tall and weigh 13 1/2 stone (yes i know i need to loose some!!)
Any sugestions of bike and place to buy would be great.
Regards
Andy

Place to buy, your local bike shop, as you will need to be sized up correctly for a start (road frames are measured in cm's), you should be able to get a deal on a '09 bike as most of the 2010 models are just about out. at your pricepoint you will prob be looking at 16 speed (full price bikes), you may get a 18 speed if its reduced in price.
Spesh Allez,Gt GTR series,Giant Defy, You really need to go look and try them out as the sizing is very important.

the raleigh airlite 300 got a pretty good review in a recent triathlon magazine. the geometry isnt too bad although it looks like it was designed for comfort rather than speed. otherwise, have a look at;
specialized allez 16
trek 1.2
giant defy 4

Can highly recommend the allez 16 for £500

Got mine from Leisure Lakes in Bury. Very pleased with it. Been on 4 rides now, 50, 48, 38 and 28 miles smile
