electric powered bikes
Discussion
Not sure if this is really the right section for this or not.
But reading a thread the other day about bike riding to the station. Well I'm not fit enough and have a huge non stop hill between me and the station (I live at the top, the station is at the bottom some 3 miles away).
I then got to thinking about the Gadget Show the other week when they had electric bikes using them in London.
I know nothing about them so really after some info and guidance.
Cheers.

A good place to start is:

Some people have a bizarre hostility to these things, I have never quite worked out why - if you don't want one, just don't buy one. Your situation would seem to be an ideal application.

I had a go on a Wisper 905se sport with the 14 amp battery pack earlier in the summer. It's got a not very legal "off road" button that looks like the Knight Rider Turbo Boost button. In off road mode, it rips along at 19.5mph just on the throttle. It was fun, but I suspect that legislation will catch up with these bikes soon.
The one I tried was from the guys at the electric transport shop - no connection with them, but they seem like a sensible bunch, and were really supportive when I approached them for info for the cycle to work scheme we're setting up.
