Woohoo, new bike for me..... yeehah. Can you tell I'm quite excited and needed to tell someone. Noone in the office gets it!

Oh and its only a 456 but looks very snazzy. First time i'll have had a proper hardtail in about 10 years!

Ti or steel? And what build are you putting on it?

I have one of each, love them both.

Hi, its only steel unfortunately the budget wouldnt stretch to ti....

And its being built as a second bike to complement the enduro, which is fantastic but totally overkill for riding round home in the midlands.

The spec is made entirely of bits from the garage, mostly taken from my specialized stumpy fsr which i snapped earlier in the year. Forks are recons, wheels are mavic cross rides, carbon fsa bars, carbon seatpost. The gashest cranks you'll have ever seen. XT rear mech, LX shifters and deore front mech.

Dammit i would have had it done but the seat post clamp is a different size to my other bikes, andI hadnt banked on the cables being fully sealed bosses all along the routing. I havent got any spare outer so it'll have to wait until tomorrow. I'll try to get some pics up then!

What forks are they?

I want a Ti version of this. I run a Ti Litespeed Ocoee and fancy a newer steed with disk tabs.

The forks are recons ratbane. 100mm travel at the moment. Im trying to find out if I can get anymore out of them. They just say recon sl on them. Wonder if they are OEM's. Anyone got any idea how to find out?

If they are anything like my Reba fork then they can be rebuild with spacers to give more travel. I'll probably get it done when they go off to Mr Flooks for their first service.
