If another f
king bus does not obey the ‘give way to the right rule’ on a roundabout I am going to do my f
king nut!
What the f
k makes them think they are above the laws of the road, EVERY single bus that approaches a roundabout pulls onto it having seen me and basically wants me to stop so they can bully there way round. No you f
king
. You wait there at that junction the same as you would do if a lorry was coming, it is not your right of way.
Had one last night do this, and apologised, don’t apologise d
head, you can see me coming, I have lights, I am going 20mph I won’t hold up your schedule anymore than a car, saying sorry then doing the worst possible thing is not a good enough reason.
They really piss me off, changing lanes without indicating, just going where they want, and now they are making my cycling to work a hazard because they do not obey the laws of the road.

It's a daily thing for me as well, generally they just pretend they haven't seen you or stick their hand out as though that instantly then gives them right of way.
Had a fair few pull into bus stops halfway through overtaking me recently, hopping up onto the pavement seems to be a requirement to survive whilst cycling.
I never really have any issues with car drivers.

And that is what annoys me, the sticking the hand out, then doing it regardless. Last nights culprit got all the hand signals. fortunatly I don't go past any bus stops, but if I did I have no doubt they would act the same.
I have nearly been side swiped by them so many times. Also they NEVER give way at a junction, and if you give way to them often there is no wave. Why are they such tossers? This cements my view on the 'loser cruiser', never a methid of transport I intened to use.

Have had a few run ins with them, but there are some pretty good bus drivers out there too. It is a big old piece of kit to drive about in and they are more excused for not seeing you than someone in a glass box little city car for example. Still no excuse for driving out in front of you though. Just think us cyclists should be careful about attacking a road group and tarring them all with the same brush, because that seems to be what most road users are doing about cyclists at the moment. I had one apologise to me when he moved right without looking and he was genuinely mortified. He was extremely apologetic and said he rode a moped and he couldn't believe he had just changed lane without looking or signalling. I left him feeling quite sorry for him as he had his head in his hands, shaking his head!
Yes, it's a requirement in case of an accident so the bus can be immobilised and the engine stopped. I wouldn't recommend doing it to a moving vehicle.
ETA: Yes, the majority of bus drivers are inconsiderate tw@ts. Whenever I get on the Nottingham Park and Ride I'm amazed at how the drivers go out of their way to be a problem for other road users including:
Driving really close to the car in front
Speeding
Pulling out in front of traffic when there is little space
Pulling out from the pavement when there are no spaces in the traffic flow
Driving off when a passenger is obviously running to get on their bus
Braking late and hard despite having a bus full of passengers, some of whom are standing
So, while a minority are considerate drivers, the majority are a bunch of fat, selfish, ignorant and inconsiderate idiots who relish the opportunity to be a nuisance to other road users and their passengers. The Gov't should employ inspectors to travel as passengers and issue penalties to poor drivers when they break the law or endanger the lives of other road users.

I was quite astounded at a bus driver yesterday during my ride to work.. I got to a junction, positioned at the left hand side of the road, gave a nice left hand signal and a bus pulls alongside me.. I'm a bit surprised at this as there isn't really room.. and then I realise hes indicating left.......
Fortunately its not too difficult to out accelerate a bus but ffs what was he thinking?
