So at the grand old age of 44 I have bought a Pashley Roadster 26 Sovereign. Now - apart from the obvious jibes about inside leg measurements - I feel a proper London cyclist. I have about 7 single speeds, 5 ludicrously expensive roadbikes and 5 mountain bikes...but somehow I just think tootling around town on this beast will look better - my days of being a fakenger are over ! Do you wave or sneer at Pashley men ?

Good for you sir! I've got a cruiser at the minute and am loving it, as soon as I can afford a nice Dutch bike i'm definitely going to get one.

You sir are a gentleman, have you got the brooks leather saddle bags too?

Is the riding position much higher than 'normal'?

Actually collecting her from SE24 tomorrow...so not sure about riding position. Having spent Monday recovering from a 2 hour ride on my CT2 I realsed that my racing days / position are well and truly behind me ! I haven't specced up the saddle bags..but now you mention it...that and white Schwalbes....I remember seeing the all chromes they did 2 years ago....they looked so good...

Yoo'll probably find that nowadays most people know pashleys for their trial bikes.

But - i used to work for a dealer. so I know the range - they are superb bikes. Expensive, but if you want something interesting to pass on, a great investment.

The chromed Guv'nor is a fantastic bike.

So...been riding this steed for the past 3 days and one thing above all else is becoming clear - If you want to get fit ride a Pashley ! I have commuted round London / raced for longer than all you youngsters and tried all ways of getting / keeping fit. Just found the solution - ride a Pashley Roadster hard as you can...

I was down in London on business last week, staying in the Travelodge on Drury Lane (my company don't do posh!).

Anyway, the Evans Cycles round the corner (High Holborn?) had a Guvnor in the window - talk about beautiful!

Never seen one before but absolutely smitten.

Ooh that is nice. Wasn't there a sexy bike thread a while bike? I still love the grey/orange Trek District.
