Grr... light clamps
Discussion
I recently bought one of the mid-range Cateye front and rear light sets from Wiggle (currently on sale BTW) and on the whole I'm very impressed. Good quality, well thought out, bright, reasonably lightweight... but whatever I do I can't get the screw-tighten clamp to hold the front one in position. It's fine until I hit a bump at speed, then all of a sudden my lights are focused on the ground about an inch in front of the wheels.
Any suggestions? Thought about cutting a bit of old inner tube and using that to line the clamp surface in hope of a bit more friction. My bars don't help as they taper, but I've tried to mount the light on the thinnest part, so theorectically it shouldn't get looser as it moves.

was there not some stick rubbery tape in the packet with the lights? put this on the bars first and they don't move.........
Yeah, every Cateye light I have ever bought has come with 2 or more rubber shims of varying thickness to go under the bracket. The inner tube should work just as well though. All mine have been rock solid.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
