Chainline may not work out correct.
^wot he said... I've tried to fit a centaur crank to an older 105 axle when I found the supplier had sent me the wrong BB and I wanted to put the bike together quickly.
It will go on and the tapers appeared to be at the same angles but the starting dimensions were different so depending on which way you're doing it then either the crank goes on too far or not far enough. It just looks wrong when you bolt it together although once assembled it looks ok with the end caps bolted up.
But the chainline is out, and in one set-up the crank won't be fully supported by the axle. Vague memories of ISO and JIS standards, campag used one, shimano the other.

I remember that Campag record/chorus was 103mm whilst the lower end chainsets used I think 112 or 116 and even wider for the triple.
shimaNO went to octalink quite a long time ago
