Finally took the new bike (Specialized San Fran2) out for its first, albeit short, outing.
Pumped up the tyres, near blinded myself checking the new lights and found my old hat and gloves.
Bikes at the workshop so went for a quick tester as I hadnt ridden the bike before.
All was fine but after about 10 minutes of riding uphill, as the workshop is in a dip, my legs were burning.
Admittedly Ive not done any cardio for ages and spent this morning replacing some fence posts and panels at home so didnt have a load of energy to start with.
Ill venture out a bit further tomorrow and aim to start doing the ride to work - about 4 miles - when I dont feel like my legs will be jelly

...I hate the thought of running machines...
Until 2 weeks ago I had never run on a treadmill. Was having gait analyis and it turns out not everyone can do it! It's very odd, it sounds like you are dragging your feet the whole time.
I think I scared the guy in Runners Need!

I've not been riding properly for years, bought a full carbon road bike last week to commute home from work(17miles) f''king killing me and i've only done it twice. Every mile hurts(arse/neck) but i'm determined it will feel a piece of piss come the summer !
Keep it up !
LMAO, I have been contemplating this (but not the commute part as it would take me a while to get to Dubai from Hants).Keep it up !
Next month, Specialized Roubaix Elite me thinks.
