Help Needed With Mountain Bike Road Tyres

Im swapping the train for my bike for a few months to work on my fitness but I know nothing about cycle tyres.

At the moment my tyres are normal off road nobblys, the front is 26 x 2.10 and the rear is 26 x 1.95

Could someone recommend me some good tyres I could use for road riding? Will be doing at least 20 miles a day on them.

specialized hemisphere armadillos.

these are 2" wide , can be pumped to 60 - 70 psi for road use and are "puncture proof".

can also be used off road for dry conditions / at lower pressures

I use these in 2.1 but if I had my time again I would probably go for the 1.5.

Thanks - I like the look & sound of the conti's - When you say you'd go for the 1.5, would you use that front & rear? Im thinking of getting 26x 1.75 front and rear?

I used all condition pro (speci's) on my MTB rims - very fast, good puncture resistance, and hard wearing too!

Make sure your rims can accept as low as a 1.5 first.

I used, I think, Specialized nimbus when I started commuting on my mountainbike (after 6 months I bought a road bike )

Nimbus are around £16 a tyre and I had no issues with punctures although, armadillos are supposed to be better (are they as grippy though?)

I initially went for the 2.1's thinking that they'd be better at absorbing broken road surfaces but on a rigid frame you soon learn to avoid any holes big enough to warrant a fat tyre!

As dubbs says, though, check the specs of the rims first. 1.75 sounds like a good bet if the rims are too wide for 1.5s.
