Having taken up DH biking last year I decided to add to my collection. I already have a 2010 Specialised Big Hit and a 2000 Trek Y-frame that I have improved for DH/MTB use but a friend was selling his 2003 Santa Cruz Bullit which I felt deserved a second wind.

It started life (in my hands) like this:

Then i did this to it:

And today it looks like this:

It seems a shame to get it all dirty now but I think i'll take it out at the weekend and see how it rides. biglaugh

Still got the Santa Cruz decals to fit to the larger tube on the frame but otherwise it's done.

Cheers

James

Oh and with the new crankset, MRP chain device and pedals i've saved a good few KG's. Feels quite nice and light now.

Nice.

A mate has just bought a 2001 (iirc) version. I'll have to point him in this direction to show what can be done.

Very nice indeed. I especially like the orange and black colour scheme.

Yeah, it's not too difficult. I just had the swingarm and frame powder coated locally.

Thankyou. I was looking to go with something quite lairy but then thought of the orange/black combo and hey presto it worked!

The orange isn't just a flat orange. I tried to get a luminous/hi-Viz style orange but had to settle for one with a gloss fleck through it. All done for £80 so no complaints here!

Cheers. I had some upgrades carried out on my Trek Y-Frame for heavier duty use but this was the first bike i've actually got my own hands dirty and thoroughly enjoyed it! I'll be changing out the Hope four pots for some newer setup as the majority of the parts seem to be discontinued by Hope. Still, they've been awfully decent and sent me some of the spares they have lying around so no complaints about their customer service!!

Well the bike is now home and i've got the last of the sticker sets on it.

Sorry about the pics. Iphone cameras bite ass.
