Doesn't Armstrong always treat everything beforehand as a build up to the Tour though? Not quite sandbagging, but along those lines.

in the past arguably thats true but i think lance will find le tour even harder this year and his rivals even stronger and he needs to nail his intentions early on with a strong result....
