Helmet Dilemma
Discussion
Evening all,
On Wednesday I took a few spills on the bike, the last of which resulted in a pretty bad concussion. I was wearing my Giro E2 at the time which is only a year old and didn't crack (landed on grass) however I am still here and relatively coherent so it has done its job in my mind! I am now left with the dilemma as I need a helmet or two to fulfil the following roles-
-Road Cycling (just L2B training really)
-Messing around on a BMX (I am pretty talentless so it's hardly going to be 'big air' stuff)
-Cross country Mountain Biking
-Bits of downhill and all-mountain stuff (Again, talentless)
My E2 was nice, light, and I could take the peak off and use it on the road and it seemed to be up to the job for that too. Whether it was good for the heavier stuff is up for debate though. So I am open to suggestions here on what to get next, whether it be an all mountain open face with a removable peak, or a cheaper XC helmet and then a Full Face. Budget is probably 50-60 quid, obviously more if I need to get more. Bearing in mind I was happy with the Giro fit, any other recommendations on comfortable lids would be good, obviously I will try to try them myself before buying.
Many Thanks!

Check out the Giro crash replacement programme via Madison. http://www.madison.co.uk/giro/
I trashed a Xen and had it replaced like-for-like for around £30. (RRP £90 at the time)

I would have a look at the met parachute. I am on my second and iþ has saved mý teeth on numerous occasions.. The mouth guard is removable with 4 bit screws- takes about 4 mins.. But I never bother reallý commute through london with it on.. Think chainreactioncycles have them for about 80 in the sale at the moment..

Yeah had looked at these but dismissed them after my DH biased friends said they were a bit weak. Having said that I have only read good reviews online, and for all mountain stuff they are probably up to the job...
