Shoes Shoes Shoes
Discussion
Weren't all that important to me before last week.
The story is that i've just bought myself a very nice Spec Tarmac and subsequently felt that my 7 year old shimano spds shoes didn't quite cut it anymore.
My first thoughts were to just buy something cheap again 45 - 70 quid would do..... but i did the worst thing possible and ended up my lbs staring at the SIDI shoes which had with 30% off....
Well you can guess what happened next, i became the proud owner of the Eagle 6 carbon mtb shoes.
Now its been a week not a had a chance to try them out and i've just got back from a quick blast out on my 5 (still waiting on the tarmac) and my god they are so beautifully comfortable and stiff all at the same time.
Seriously if anyone is in doubt how good a pair of 160 - 250 shoes are try them out (my lbs said if i didn't like them i could return them!) and they will without any question blow your mind on how far they are away from old or cheap spd shoes.
I know i'm stating the obvious (maybe) but i was always cynical how much a good pair of shoes could give me.

........OP should have got some Scott Carbon sole... and saved a fair bit of cash..... I just sent some Dragon 2 SRS Carbs back (230 notes) thinking they would some how be better then 80 quid scots. I was wrong, they felt very similar in terms of stiffness, thankfully for my wallet

Carbon specialized for me! - super comfy and stiff!!
I found them to slim for my foot and the SIDI just fitted that bit better,TBH I wouldn’t have spent 200+ on them, I got 30% off in the Snow and Rock sale!
Spent yesterday fettling the cleats around trying to seek out the best postion and think I’ve got there.
Bike is in for a service this week and once done I’ll be hitting the Scottish hills (well around Edinburgh as I don’t have a car suitable to getting more than 1 wheel to wherever I need to go)
Sorry for the gush but really compared to my old knackered shoes (well tbh not completely knackered) these are a dream.

Time carbon RXE & RXS at £50 & £70 respectivly on Planet X, anyone one know if these shoes are any good? Recomendations, advice?
Thanks
Only advice is to get to your lbs and try a number of them on. Thanks
Yes some will be stiffer than others with an edge up on tech as you spend more BUT if they aren’t comfortable it will be only become a detrimental factor to your riding.
Spent the last 20 years of my life racing bikes (mtb and road) and Sidis are about the only brand I hadn't tried until about a month ago. Not quite the biggest regret of my life but it's up there! They are so comfy and so well made (next time you're in your LBS check out the detailing of them and even better try a pair on - you won't regret it). And I'm not sponsored by any shoe brands.
