Hi all,

Have an issue with my bike at the moment in that when I stand up and really put pressure on the pedals there is a groaning / creaking noise from the bottom bracket (or at least that is where it sounds like its coming from), sounds like ball bearings being rubbed together with no grease between them.

Now this bike isn’t very old so I am surprised that this should be happening so soon, can anyone confirm what this is exactly?

Also I’d be interested to hear your opinions on whether this fault should be covered under the bike warranty.

Thanks

Matt

I had something similar and it was due to the bits that screw into the frame coming loose. It's happening again now so I need to get them done up again, this time with some thread lock too.

Its a GIANT YUKON3, about 10 mths old, bought it on-line so never had the free service but did take it in to a local bike shop and paid to have it serviced; not sure they would sort it though?
