Hi there,

I have a Boardman comp and love it except for the tiagra shifters. I am considering a change and see that SRAM rival seems a competetively priced alternative. Are they any good? Are they compatable with Shimano deralieurs?

The mechs and shifters work out about 200 quid, whereas 105 shifters are verging on that on their own.

Yes they work fine, depends if you want to adapt to double tap. Maybe try before you buy

Yep

Unfortunately individual components will always be more expensive than buying an entire groupset, which is always more expensive than buying the complete bike with groupset attached. It's simply purchasing power. Try for some second hand levers maybe, parts devalue like crazy and people are always upgrading
or I found a pair for £150 on ebay 370296351188

Many thanks, just found the company site on you tube. Looks like good kit.

My early guess at pricing was wrong as the halfrauds site had the break callipers in the shifter page with a pic of the shifters at 99 quid.

Still ebay has an average of 150 quid for their shifters.

If you want the 11-32 rear cassette then yes - you would need the RD as well, or an MTB RD - XTR would work nicely with your shimano shifters smile
