Bedding in new disc brake rotors and pads & caring for them
Discussion
Hi,
I've just bought some new Shimano XTR pads and rotors for my Cannondale as my last brakes were contaminated badly and they really didn't work.
I've found a few conflicting techniques on how to bed them in on the internet so I was wondering what your techniques were please.
Also, I'd like to know how you care for them and maintain them after each ride and periodically to stop them becoming contaminated and keep them nice and clean and working well.
Thanks for any pointers,
Dan

Few stops from high speed to get the pads and discs nice and warm so they bed to each other should see you ok.. - or just use them (in nice DRY weather) for them to bed in.. - IME, if you're trying to bed in new pads when its wet (particuarly somewhere like wales), they don't bed in properly, and won't last long at all...
