Tour Series 2010 - Kettering... Pics
Discussion
Myself, Gretch & Elias popped along to Kettering this evening for the Tour Series, thought I'd post a few pics.
It was really good event & spectacle with a decent crowd and a fantastic atmosphere. We were all thoroughly impressed

One of the Team Ireland riders went down hard just after we'd been stopped at the very spot... Didn't look good, he didn't get up and eventually they took him away in an ambiwlans. The lack of radios etc. here really showed the only bad side to the evening as it was fooking ages before they got someone to him & organisation seemed badly lacking, with members of the public having to help & shouting to try and keep the rest of the riders away from where he was laying. The marshalls did their best but there certainly needs to be some improvement made. I was going to post a pic but as I'm unable to find any news on his condition will hold off for now. Hope it wasn't as bad as it appeared & a full and swift recovery is made.

All in all a top evening's entertainment. Might even try and make another round.

Here's a couple of my best ones form the evening.
I was also near the Team Ireland guy's accident and also couldn't find any mention of his condition. Very concerned as it looked serious (also have a pic that is not appropriate to post until this is known). Fingers crossed chap

Thanks

So, pretty cynical coverage from ITV4... not even a mention of Stephen Barrett tumbling and any footage from that part of the circuit just cut to show nothing but the merest glimpse of anything occurring. Might have been considerate just to broadcast an update as there were plenty of concerned onlookers who are no doubt wondering how the guy is doing...
From the Tour series website:

– UPDATE –
Team Ireland rider Stephen Barrett crashed in the closing stages of the race and was admitted to Kettering General Hospital. At the time of issuing, Stephen was due to remain in hospital overnight under observation.
Sometimes there is no news to tell at the time, and giving out half facts can just start unfounded rumours. Remember, no news is good news.
