Windsor Triathlon Sunday PH attendance...
Discussion
I'll be there racing at 07:55.... unfortunately I'll be bringing my cold with me but I'm feeling a bit better this morning so the hope is I'll be almost fighting fit on Sunday.
Reason for posting is that I'm going to take along the PH cycling top and (as long as I remember during transition) I'll bung it on for the bike leg
If you're about give us a wave - reckon I'll be on the bike leg by about 08:30 and cycling for about an hour. (43km course)

Ouch, that was hard work.
Good to meet you briefly, but I never saw you again after we got into the water. Did it all go OK?
I did around 2.35 (give or take a couple of minutes), which I'm pleased with. The bike leg I was chuffed with, at about 1.11 for the 42K, but my run was awful. That hill up to the castle destroyed me - and we had to do it 3 times. With a bit more running fitness I'd have snuck under 2.30.
Ah well, the Guinness afterwards was well worth it.

Swim was awful, couldn't breathe properly couldn't get in to a rhythm... nightmare.
Bike wasn't bad at all and I was pleased with that
Run I just had nothing left, I tried telling my body I didn't have a cold and was fine.... my body replied in spite!! 3rd lap got chronic stich that had me doubled over.
Provisional time (i.e, form my watch) 2h44m
Good to meet you - sounds like you did well there
not an easy tri Windsor

not an easy tri WindsorWent and had a look this morning, looks well organised so I may consider doing one in the future. I saw some blond guy "Euan someone" reporting for TV so I expect that will be on C4 in due course.
I'm sure you'll be fine with a bit of practice.
Though obviously open water and wetsuits is another skill to learn.

Well done both of you for finishing. I live in Windsor and would love to do it one year but can't swim for s
t. Cycling & running not a problem.
Chapeau!
I think I may have said this elsewhere. But prior to this year. I hadn't swum for 15-16 years! Half way down my first length I realised I had forgotten! TBH I was concerned. So I went 3 times a week for 6 weeks. Until I could swim 1k non stop. Then I got hold of a swim instruction book. And have worked on my balance and technique and feel I have improved dramatically.

Windsor is a great town (post-race visit to the cupcake shop was great), but that stitch-inducing hill up past the castle was just torture on the 2nd and 3rd laps, giving me a run time of 50 minutes - my slowest 10K ever. But then my bike was actually 1.10, so no complaints there.
Well done Dubbs, you can't have been far behind me. I was keeping an eye out for your PH shirt on both the bike and run, but even if I'd seen it you would have received a pained mumble rather than hearty encouragement.
The chap towing his child around the bike course, then pushing it round the run course - big thumbs up for him.
Well, its the Dambuster tri next weekend - same distance, and hopefully less agony.

L2B for me next weekend, got my hep A/B and Typhoid jabs today as I'm off to South Africa (yes Joburg, no... to WORK!!!)
So you can guess just how much my arms hurt right now!!
L2B is going to get a damn good caning if I'm back to health as I need to make up for Sunday
Another Oly distance tri 1week after Windsor? You're NUTS!! But good luck to you

Next year... need to get Oly time down to a REAL man's time first. Too many guys doing 70.3's just for distance (do it slow and it's not "that" hard)when they couldn't even get a sub 2h45m Olympic.
Once I'm quick enough, I'm then moving up the distance, reckon on 2 half-iron and at least 1 70.3 for 2011.
If I get decent times then maybe Lanzarote, win the AG and go to Kona...
in my dreams...!!

I wonder what Chrissie would do OD in? Probably not under 3 as she's not set for it and has more or less said she won't enter 2012 as Hawaii is HER Olympics.
I think as and when I do an IM (aiming for 2012 or 13) it definetly won't be Lanzarote or even UK! Maybe France, Germany or Switzerland

Switzerland or Austria for a fast time, but both fill up in a few days every year.
France is nice - no pun intended - and Barcelona looks good, although both have a sea swim, and they don't seem to get to capacity quite so quickly.
I'm tempted by the new 'Outlaw', too, but there's a lot to be said for having the support provided by a full-on M-dot or Challenge race rather than something smaller and lower-profile.

All I know is that as RAW ran past me I amazingly found an additional spring in my step I think as and when I do an IM (aiming for 2012 or 13) it definetly won't be Lanzarote or even UK! Maybe France, Germany or Switzerland

Well, Dambuster Triathlon lived up to its name - I pretty much exploded.
The bike route was so windy and hilly that I was 7 minutes slower than at Windsor. That prevented me from going under 2.30. Still, I knocked 7 minutes off my Windsor run time, and a bit more off the swim and transisions, resulting in a slight improvement on Windsor with a 2.32 overall. The event was very challenging and glad I did it.
Good luck to all L2B-ers
