Just wondering if anyone else is doing this tomorrow??

Either 100 miles or 100 kms. I wimped out (as it is my first event) and am doing the 100km. Will be sporting the PH black jersey and lots of water! Predicted temps of 25C and wall to wall sun, so it may well be hard work up and over Dartmoor.

Slightly nervous, but very excited!!! Come over and say hi if anyone is going to be there smile

Good event, did teh 100 miler a couple of years ago and it was stinking hot!
The first part of the ride is steep and you will be wondering how you will ever finish but dont worry it gets easier.

Thanks!

Weather forecast for tomorrow is stinking hot again! Having never done anything like this before, its quite exciting!

Bike is prepped, bought a second water bottle, new tyres and computer, bedded everything in and checked the bike over, have registered. All I have to do now is get up, load up and get there!

Brill! Will try and get some photos!

How did you get on with this? I just about killed myself doing the the 106 mile run but pleased I completed it after only taking up road cycling this year. Couldn't believe how hot it was, especially going up some of the hills.

Wow, you did the big circuit - much kudos to you, sir! I did the 67 miles in 4hr 26 if you don't count the stop at Pricetown (4hr 40 if you do) which I was really chuffed with. Averaged 14.6mph with a top speed of 45mph.

The heat was incredible wasn't it! I got through 6 big bottles of water over the whole event and another 1 at the end.

I was wearing my black PH jersey with huge smiley on the back - did you see me?

Did it in 7.26 including stops, would have been a litle bit quicker but the dreaded cramp hit 20 miles out. Still not sure how much I enjoyed it as it was bloody hard work for the vast majority of the ride. I did my first Sportive in May, Etape Caledonia, and that was a lot more fun, probably because that was relatively flat as I'm not really built for climbing. Saw your post on Sunday morning and was looking for someone with a Pistonheads top but didn't see you.
