Rear pannier rack problem on a Specialized
Discussion
Hi,
Just gone from a Kona Fire mountain to a Specialized Tricross Sport and are having problems fitting a rear pannier frame in preperation for my yearly cycle/camping trip.
The problem, i have tried both a Blackburn rack and Karrimor rack and both racks have about the same width at the bottom where they bolt onto the cycle frame eyelets. The Specialized bike has rear end tubing that curves outwards and therefore is considerably wider at the rear than some other bikes i have seen and the pannier rack is not wide enough to fit, it's too wide a fit to try to bend the rack out without it breaking and i can't fit the racks on the inside eyelets of the frame as opposed to the normal outside fitting as it will foul on the very bottom cog/chain.
The Tricoss has specific eyelets in its frame so a pannier rack must fit somehow, is there some sort of adaptor to cater for this different sizing, i've tried searching the www without success,
Hoping somebody can advise,
Regards,
Martyn.....
