boardman comp brakes-2009 model mountain bike

Hi i have a 2009 boardman comp,and the front brake is really spongy.I'm looking at geting a bleed kit.
Does anyone know the make/model number.
I cant look at the moment as its sat in my garage in norfolk and i'm in london.

I think they're Avid Juicy 3's - the 2010 model was at least and I don't think they changed the spec much from 2009 to 2010.

Bleeding bike brakes is one of the few jobs I leave to a bleeding specialist. Your LBS should be able to do front and back for £30-£40.

Bleeding's not really all that difficult at all. The hardest part is avoiding spilling any onto your calipers or disks.

I think it should be even easier if they are Avid brakes, as theres videos on youtube to show you how to do it - I did it on a pair of Tektro Hydraulic Discs, where the instructions were damn near illegible!

What I'd do is go home and check what's on the bike.

Avid bleed kits vary from £20 to £35 depending what bits are included. You can get cheaper kits on eBay - £13 to £18.

Don't be put off bleeding your own brakes. Take your time and the results are good.

I have had my LBS do it a couple of time at £20 a go and have never been that impressed with the results.

I bought the proper kit for some Juicy5's and the results were good. It takes quite a while to do as it is fairly tricky but well worth the effort. My results with the £35 bleed kit were far better than those of the LBS

Maybe i should use a different shop but for £35 i can bleed as oftern as i need.
