Has anyone got a different telephone number for them other than the one on the website. Everytime I call I get the message that the telephone lines are closed and will be open tomorrow, had this for the last week now.

Seems they are not responding to emails either, getting a bit miffed now as they have sent a product without a bolt, and can get through to them to get a new one etc.

Cheers

Why not try one of their numbers for foreign callers, they have about 6 different numbers listed on the contact list. Or send them a fax?

I phoned a few weeks ago and it took about 20 minutes to get through, did get there eventually though. Turned out they hadn't updated the status of my order and it was on it's way.

Its the same message, but in a different language. They are receiving my emails, just talking 2 days to get back to me, need to be able to talk to someone to get to the route of the problem

I get the impression they are a bit over stretched, may last order was slow in arriving, also tried to email but got a slow response. I hope it is because they are busy taking lots of orders.

CRC are being VERY unlike CRC at the moment, if you know what I mean. I too think they've been caught out by the popularity of their sale - I've never expereinced a problem with them despite far too many orders over the past few years...

Ordered Saint chainset, Brand X pressure suit and some spokes and nipples. They sent the spokes and nipples, 2 x Brand-X pressure suits and no chainset. That was the start of last week and stil trying to resolve it, but chainset is apparently in the post now. They've been slower than they should be (over 12 working hours to respond to emails) but they do seem to anser them eventually.

Seems to be a few folk on STW having issues with CRC at the moment too...

is it the holiday season?

my order last week arrived with in a couple of days.

one of the things was some hope hose guides, the box contained an 8mm and 10mm bolt rather than 2 8mm bolts (i assume this isnt CRC's fault) they have resolved it quickly and FOC.

I used to use wiggle more, but think the CRC service has improved, so now use them more.

hope the problems you are facing are short term

I used for the 1st time this week - disappointed. I ordered my 1st pair of SPD shoes, order accepted etc. 2 days later I got a mail saying they dont have my size although they did on site when I ordered. So off to the local shop today to buy the same ones for 15 pounds more!.

What annoys me about them is they don't update their website frequently enough.
You see an item on sale and think thats great, go to buy it an realise that there are none in stock and its a discontinued item. Why the hell have it on slae if there are none.
Also a lot of the time a sale item is only for a particular colour or size, which is stupid as they advertise the sale item without mentioning this.
Have spent several thousand in CRC over the past 3 years but am starting to get fed up with them.

I ordered a set of SPDs (What does that mean?) yesterday afternoon after being recommended on another thread and they arrived this morning. Very impressed.

Sorry to see people having trouble with Chain Reaction.

Used them a few times and they've been pretty good.

First time I had a bit of to-and-fro with some incorrectly ordered (my fault) QR skewers, and they were very helpful - did actually 'phone to get to the bottom of the issue.

Week before last I had another to-and-fro with some 661 shoes (FWIW, do beleive what the reviews say - order a size bigger!) and again they were good, although the 2nd pair of shoes arrived before any confirmation email that they'd even recevied the 1st set back. I think they're just a tad busy and have a few staff on hols.

After 2 weeks they think they have the right bolt for me now... I tried everywhere to get one, dot bikes, WindWave etc. (FSA Carbon crank bolt).

Im still not convinced its the right one but its 'in the post', as they dont show the bolt on their site at all, FSA are closed in Italy, and the bolt is on back order everywhere. I think they would have had to break into another crankset to get the bolt and send it to me. In the meantime, while they did not contact me I got one of Amazon from Germany which cost me £17.

My issue with them is the response time, and not keeping me informed. The problem is one bad review, and you lose good customers etc. I think a complaint letter is in order for this one, shocking customer service on this sale, on the other bits circa £1000 worth, they were fine.

I've used them in the past and have always been impressed with their service and customer support.

So just seconding the others who have said that this is hopefully a temporary thing due to their current sale/holiday period.

I've always found CRC to be at the "slightly less than wiggle" price and customer service point (i.e not great but "ok") BUT if I'm not in a rush for something, always pretty good.

Wiggle for fast (unless LBS has it) and more expensive guaranteed deliver of what I want.

For some weird reason all my MTB stuff will be CRC or Stif (they're VERY good) whereas Road is LBS or wiggle.

The service isn't as good as it used to be. I've been using Chain Reaction since the year 2000 and in the early years if you ordered before 2pm, the product would be sent out that day to arrive the following day. This doesn't seem to happen anymore unfortunately. Also, many of the popular items are frequently out of stock so inevitably I end up going to Wiggle, UK Bikestore or Merlin Cycles instead. Merlin cycles can often beat Chain Reaction on price for certain items although they don't have anywhere near as big a range of products.
