BB/Crank Removal

It seems that the bottom bracket on my MTB has reached the end of its useful life, as if I move the pedal on one side the other one wobbles just as much.

Its typical as I was supposed to be riding the Trail Break trail ride at Dunsfold next Saturday, and I don't really want to spend any money on it as I am hoping to buy a 2011 Boardman Pro when they get realeased

So, is there an easy / cheap way of removing and repalcing the bracket or is there a way of tightening it up. As you may tell my bike fixing/technical skills are very low but am happy to give it a go

By all means check the pedal arms are tight, failing that it's new BB time. But they're only £15. You'll need a tool to fit them, so failing that you might as well take it to a bike shop to be done. Whole job shouldn't be more than £25.

I assume you're going to shift your current bike on when you get the new one anyway, it'll be a much easier sell if it's 100% working.
