After reading the "has PH influenced your car purchase" thread, I thought I'd ask the question in here.
Only because after seeing some of the beautiful machines some of you guys own and looking at my old retro-ride I went out and spent the most I've spent on 1 bike. In fact its probably equal to the total amount of all my previous bikes combined!

What also didnt help for me was that my mate had just got a S/H Orange 5, my old iDrive was 10 years old, weighed 42lbs and had 90mm of travel...

Luckily (for some unfathomable reason) i've decided to never ride non-SS bikes nor bikes with suspesnsion which means the most I can spend is relatively low

My current one has edged into £600.

Also, forgot to mention, no carbon, no titanium, no alu. Steel is good enough for me

£200 wheels.

Oh mine was OTP (Haro Mary SS) which came in at just under £400 then upgraded the forks (£60), seatpost (£130) and levers (£15)

I remember seeing On One Inbred 29er frames going for just over £100 a while back in a sale, I think they retail about £160. And they're pretty decent frames.

Holy Bejeesus - I hope that seatpost came with a free flat screen TV or saddle worth £125 or something!

It was a Cane Creek Thudbuster LT, great piece of kit. I love the handling of fully rigid bikes, however racing one for 24hrs with a rigid seatpost?

No thanks, I value my testes.
