Gum MTB tyres

I'm pretty sure that it was on here, but I can't seem to find it using the search, but a while back in a 'bike porn' thread someone posted a picutre of a mtb that had knobly tyes in a natural 'gum' colour. Not just sidewall, but the whole tyre. There was some discussion with links to a couple of companies that sell such a thing.

I've Googled and Googled and can't find them anywhere. Anyone got any ideas what they are or whether they have another name to help Google out?

I can't remember the brand name but I have a new one in the garage I bought as a spare some time ago. I'll have a look when I get home if you haven't already had an answer by then.

Yeah, I saw those when Googling, but the ones I'm looking for are proper knobbly off road tyres.

To be honest, I don't think I'm likely to find any since I'm after 29", but it's worth a bash. That and it's doing my head in thinking that I've imagined them.

They might have been old 1990's tyres. I have a pair of NOS Tiogas in gum colour and also a NOS pair of gum onza Porcs. Michelin did a gum coloured Wildgripper I think too. Don't think you will find any in 29er flavor though.

Thanks. I've searched and it's the Wildgripper that I'm sure I was looking at last time. It's a shame they don't do them anymore or in 29", I'd have loved some in that gum/amber colour.

I had a set of them ... great colour, but the tread was no good for the type of riding I did back then took them off after a couple of weeks

OK, I've dug it out - it's an MTB VelociRaptor. Looking on eBay that tyre is still around but only in black by the looks of it.

Back in the day i had some of my favourite ever tyres, panaracer smoke (rear) and dart (front). These were available as normal but the ones that adorned my beloved trek 970 belonged to their magic series. These were tan coloured, so not sure if these are what you may have seen. Dont think they are available any longer. Shame, as I said i really rated the smoke and darts!

I love both of those. I remember when I was a kid that I really wanted some Smokes.

Doesn't look like there is anything about at the moment. I really thought there'd be more options available in the MTB market than the road market for things like that, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Panaracer Magics in cream,, nice! I have a maching set of cream Magic grips somewhere in my stash.

Not suprising that the Wildgrippers were removed after a week, we used to call them Wildslippers they were that bad.
