seriously tempted to enter the Action Medical Research 24 hour race as a solo entry. its at Goodwood circuit so reasonably danger free, no traffic issues anyway. So just how mental is it? anyone done anything similar? its in June so training is limited, pretty sure I am physically capable of completing it but mentally?...

Go for it, I did my first one (my first race ever actually) last summer, amazing fun. Go for it!

Sounds similar to a 24 hour time trial, Mersey roads is the/was the only one still going but the KCA are organising a Southern one next year.

You have to have a go for the experience, I rode the Mersey roads in 2007, one of the most painful experiences I've ever had on a bike and did 334 miles on 72" fixed gear, the winner did 501 miles.

To train for it ride as much as possible and get Simon Doughty's book
