Stumpjumper FSR 2009 Questions...

So I finally retired my '97 Mount Vision after 14 years faithful service:



And replaced it with a 2009 Stumpjumper FSR Comp, bought from a friend of a friend, only ridden 10 times etc etc:



It's in excellent condition, just needs a couple of rusty fasteners replacing. The previous owner said it had a fault when changing between granny and middle rings. This was confirmed when I test rode it. I thought it was either bad mech adjustment, the mech itself or a shifter. On closer examination it turns out it's a knackered cable: the end of it looks like a wizard's sleeve (to use an inappropriate phrase). The general routing of the gear cables also seems to be wrong; the rear mech cable contacts the granny ring:



Does anyone have a picture of the correct routing?

Also, "Pro Pedal" on the Triad shock - how should it feel when bouncing the bike while stationalry? It feels virtually identical to normal damping to me.

You won't notice pro pedal working when bouncing the shock, it prevents certain specific frequencies of compression and rebound, you'll just notice the bike doesn't 'bob' when pedalling

Cables certainly need replacing, I think they're routed right the rear mech cable is just a bit long. try zip tying them together?

Thanks for that. I assumed the cables were too long, but they are original, so that's how it was from new presumably. I should get new ones today.

I've got an FSR and my cables are zip-tied together - it's how it came from the shop. Pretty sure if the zip tie wasn't there I'd be in the same situation.
