annoyingly, my SKS rennkompressor has been a bit of a PITA and am looking for another track pump. are the joe blow ones any good? they seem to be in just about every bike shop going so surely must be ok?

cheers guys, looking to buy on in about 2 hours so quick replies would be ruddy appreciated!

I recently replaced my Joe Blow Sport with an SKS Renkompressor. The Renkompressor is far superior.

trouble is, the end bit (using presta valve) has a thread on which goes into the piece you'd use for a schrader valve, but there is no thread for it to screw into confused i also find that when pumping it up, it almost bends the valve, so the air just comes out.

build quality wise, the SKS rennkompressor can't be faulted, it's biblical. bare in mind if it's a relatively new rennkompressor, they've changed the head, presumably to stop what keeps happening on mine which is about 2-3 years old. it's always done it, but now i'm just really fed up with it. i don't fancy spending another £60 on another one.

No complaints here, love the presta/schrader flick switch, no messing!

A new hose and head is about £10-15, and a two minute job to fit.

Another vote for the Joeblow, mines about 8 or 9 years old and still going strong. Puts 120psi into the road bike with no complaints.

Top pump, bought one a couple of months ago as I needed a pump that would go to 140 psi. Go for the Joe Blow Sport (yellow one), this is the cheapest place I could find; http://www.cycleworld.co.uk/Products/Pumps/Track-P...

Arrived the following day and had a free drinks bottle and a sachet of energy drink in it!

bought one yesterday and had no troubles at all. the head for the presta valve just seems to clamp much more securely than my rennkompressor for some reason. either way, i'm happy with it. pumps up to 160psi which is enough biggrin

thanks chaps.

For our club we bought a Jo Blow and at the same time I bought a Blackburn. The JB now has an 8" tube as it kept cracking and leaking. My Blackburn is still full length with no cracking. Both work very well although I find the head easier to use on the Blackburn as the head on the JB can be a bit hit and miss.

I have had one for nearly a year, after recommendations on this site, I'm very pleased with it, well made, strong and does both my MTB & Road bike valves without changing any adaptors, great bit of kit.
