2hr rides have finally arrived on Peloton - Not as painful as the Olivia Amato's PZ max rides, but surprisingly tough keeping the legs spinning constantly for that long - No freewheeling on these 'bikes'. A pretty good 'Zone 2' workout overall, hopefully more 2hrs sessions are coming.
I did a 90 min ride ages ago… the bum numbness was horrible for the last half hour!
I passed 700 rides a couple of weeks ago, but lost my 167 week streak last week… health hasn’t been great over the last month or so, and I just couldn’t face climbing on the bike last weekend… should have just started a meditation class on the app, but forgot.
Just did my 1st ride for 2 weeks… a 45m PZE… huffed and puffed my way to a 180w ave
Need to sort whatever is ailing me and get my fitness back!

I did my 150th today. 42 week streak. PR for a 30 min ride. Compared it to my very first 30 min 'advanced beginner' ride and subsequent 'regular' 30 min ride (back in Feb 2023) - what an improvement! Nothing like some of the stats/outputs quoted here, but very happy with the progress.

My longest ride was 151 mins (one of those scenic ride as your own pace affairs).I was doing it while on an online zoom course. Had the laptop lodged in front of the screen. 10 min coffee break about half way. And yes, I did wear cycling shorts for it.

My joint issue is still holding me back a bit as I'm getting quite sore after some of the rides so having to take longer breaks between rides.
It's still getting used though, so that's the main thing. Gives me exercise.

I've found that doing the Power Zone Endurance rides has really helped with progress. Maybe something to consider if do your FTP test.

No chatter about the ability to stream Netflix etc on the bike now? Pretty handy if you just want to spin your legs. Plenty of people has modded the tablet to do similar so it’s nice to see proper support.
I've found the Peloton classes to be the USP that keeps me using the bike versus any other indoor trainer (I had Tacx trainer years ago that was hardly used). The 2hr Pz class actually went really quickly, I was surprised how knackered the legs feel today, given how easy relatively the efforts were (barely Zone 3 and mainly Zone 2). I hope Peloton do more 2hr PZ classes, 20K+ people have done the session now in about 3 weeks, so hopefully as more people do the ride, Peloton will do more of these classes. On a related note couldn't resist treating our selves for Xmas.......Wouldn't open the boxes till at least December so try and make it feel like an early selfish X mas present .
So having said I didn’t see the point of Netflix etc on Peloton, I tried the new beta feature tonight. Having watched the latest ‘fad’ of consistent Zone 2 training thought my not give it a go….
1: Drive to Survive is a really good reminder of how exciting F1 - Especially watching how people like Horner etc have changed since 2018.
2: The Peloton screen is really good quality for media consumption and for maintain a flattish power graph.
3: Zone 2 ride is really easy, but after nearly 1hr constant pedalling it does catch up with you!

Finally had time to setup the random Black Friday purchase. The Guide was surprisingly easy to set up and gives good additional info on the strength work outs, has an interesting ‘personalised’ weekly plan setup, which currently is suggesting the same classes for both me and my wife so I suspect the only ‘personalised’ bit is fact you do the sessions in your account .
How do you find the Guide? Does it work well?
I've altered my weekly regimen now to focus on more weights work.
Monday: Ben Alldis Upper body Push
Tuesday: Ben Alldis Upper body Pull
Weds: A ride (usually Power zone endurance)
Thurs: Andy Spear Upper body Push
Fri: Andy Spear Upper body Pull
Sat: A ride (PZ or whatever takes my fancy).
Andy Spear's Advanced Split is pretty tough to be fair. Certainly a step up from Ben.

^It does what it says, have done nearly a dozen classes on it since Saturday, I quite like the feature where it ‘builds’ a 3-4-5 day routine based on a few basic questions. The tracking is 90% accurate, I haven’t tried it yet for an AMRAP segment but that could be very useful for keeping count versus me doing it.
The tracking however at the moment I think is only class specific, am sure in future it’ll be come persistent across classes so you can compare reps done before versus now. I’m pretty happy with it, the issue for me now is trying not to buy the Row when its released in the UK, given its cost might wait for an used one to appear at some point .

3 years since getting the bike!!! Looking at the status between me and my wife we've done just under 3000 sessions combined 60% is strength and 40% bike.
Including the £1700 for the bike, £39/month for 3 years = 0.84p per work out, and just over 1 work out a day for me .
For fun I tried to retake one of the first classes I did in 2021, but failed due to forgetting about a kids brithday party drop off, still overall Peloton is doing what we need it for, keeping the mid life male pregnancy phenomenal in check, and despite been 3 years older still managing similar numbers on the bike.

Nice. I'm still enjoying my Peloton. I'm on my 67th week 230'ish rides. my number of rides has had to drop off due to work, but i pretty much still manage two per week. This week I was a bit more flexible so managed 4 rides, two of those were PR's on 30 mins programmes (Jess King is a bh btw ).
I did think about trying to go back and look at where I started compared to now, just to see how i've improved, even though it's tougher to improve as many times these days.
It's great for what I want, there's very few times where I don't make the effort and jump on it, it tends to be a real reason if i don't do a ride, rather than an excuse.
