Afternoon folks,

Is the flame and thunder show any good?, I love drag racing, gutted i missed this years euro's as i was in Libya, however i've got the opportunity to go to S.Pod this year for said show, my only problem is.. the Mrs....
Its her Birthday on the 29th same day as the show, and she's the one who needs convincing. Is it somethin for all to enjoy???

Cheers

This is the 1 event i make appoint of missing, having been twice before frown Far to busy for my tastes, and not that many pro cars ...but then i do like pro cars and hate crowds .each to there own i guess .

fuel cars at dusk, jet cars at night

nice family day out, and good fireworks.

I'm guessing (based on your profile) that your BFPO, or similar, so keep up the work. Some of us here appreciate (if not understand) what you face and that you miss God's chosen motorsport.

F&T has morphed into an exhibition event - 1 x TF for a quick squirt, 1 x Jet Car, 1 x French Nutter on a missile. If I lived within spitting distance, then maybe I'd go for a day out to talk bks with my buddies on the bank with a few beers. Would I drive 70+ miles? Been there, done that. IMO, it's not a drag race meeting anymore (understandable, given the time of year vs HP) so, not for me...

Take your OH somewhere out nice....

Just my 2 cents

Seen 4s in a fueller at the flame n thunder before.......just needs the weather to behave! And seeing a fuel car running a low 5 in the dark at about 5degrees, that, was impressive!

Flame burnouts as well this year from a few nostalgia cars wink

if the weather is good its actuly one of the more family orientated events and far more to interest those not hooked on drag racing,
for a day out its one of the few events i would take anyone who wasnt a petrol head,
good fire works, good side shows, enough on track action for most drag racing nuts to stay interested
there will be flame burnouts again from havock, and my first hits in the superbird as well as the other stuff

I have been but it's too far for me to go for just a couple of fuel cars especially as the weather is always a bit dodgy. The jet cars tend not to be so badly affected by the conditions although the Ronnie Picardo ones look good but never seeem to get much above walking pace anyway. Many years ago you did get quite a few fuel cars running as it went dark if it wasn't raining which was great but the last time I went a couple of years back I was much less impressed. It's a long time until Easter and if I lived within an hour of the Pod and the weather looked OK I'd probably still go but I would not cross the country for it.

Nice one Bill, rofl
It's the thick end of 180 some odd miles each way for me but I'd go just for Havoc and your roller but we're away that weekend.

Yeaa, the Pod asked if we wanted to and I've wanted to since seeing pics of Pure Hell, Hounddog and Ricky Ruiz' Navada Rattler doing them biggrin the ol' girls going in for paint over the winter so might as well make a start stripping it lol. Yea got metalled chute packs/lines, rear lights, wiring etc is all coming off before hand
