I was just wondering, with the prospect of running the full ¼ at the Easter thunderball, do you think the will entice more fuel teams to come out?

P.S, Don’t want this to start up the whole 1000ft vs. 1320ft thing again smile

No, mainly because it's mainly the teams that want to go 1000ft.

with a (very) limited AAFC "fleet" for possible entries, at what point do you say lets just have TF running?, especially as its not a main stream (FIA) event and money is tight anyway....

Never. AAFC's on a full pass are the best spectacle in drag racing.

totally agree with you on this one, and what with the new showtime and shockwave cars coming out should be a great thing to see!

Well except the Winged Express at night, 8 pipes lit, front wheel pawing the air at 200mph maybe wink

Haha, of course all subjective. But for me a funny car is a much more entertaining sight than a dragster, even if its "only" running a 5.3

I would think there will still be a decent turn out at Easter from fuel cars. The change to 1000ft was said to be for the integrity of the FIA Championship and as the Thunderball is only a national event there is no reason not to run if you were planning to.

Looking forward to seeing the other two-hundred or so racers who will still run the full quarter at Easter?

Why would TF teams run 1320 at Easter if they are trying to get a set up for 1000 for the rest of the year?????

Because the cars are not set up any differently.

The track length was not changed for safety, but for consistency in the championship.

I think you'll find the setup is quite different, and I wouldn't expect to see many people on the throttle past the 1000ft clocks (in the long pointy cars anyway)

One of the arguments for 1000 ft was that the tune ups from the states where for 1000ft so there must be a difference.
